Spider-Men II #3 and Generations: The Spiders
In this episode, Jack and Brian welcome back Superior Spider-Talk‘s Dan Gvozden for an extended episode as we travel back in time with one version of Miles in Part 3 of Spider-Men II and another in Generations: The Spiders!
- 0:00 – Intro
- 1:57 – Spider-Men II #3 – Are we in for an extended run? Introducing the Kingpin, but what about Evil Miles? Considering plot mechanics and the series format. What is it all leading to? Too violent?
- 32:32 – Your feedback on Spider-Men II #3
- 34:56 – Our three-word summaries of Spider-Men II #3
- 36:15 – Generations: The Spiders – A beautifully rendered Ditko homage that’s more Spider-Men than Spider-Men II? Digging deeper into the question of identity. If Peter is so Amazing, then where can (should) Miles go from here? And is it all part of a larger plan?
- 1:01:49 – We attempt three-word summaries of Generations: The Spiders (although Dan goes over and Jack is stumped)
- 1:03:53 – Outro; What did *you* think of these issues? Let us know!; And coming up…

I ABSOLUTELY agree with all the points made about Spider-Men II and how the idea has overstayed its welcome and it’s a bit late now to do it. Nothing about it is all that compelling other than the art etc.
Especially with the Generations issue, I would love for the artist of it to take over the art for the main Amazing Spider-Man run, I would absolutely love that! Also, it’s very interesting, because although it’s made out to be the 60’s and everyone is wearing clothes such as that, you can see people on laptops and occasionally on phones in that comic which is very contradictory.
